Junko has been working for entertainment industry as a promoter, artist manger and legal counsel over the decades. She originally working for a record label as sales rep & promoter and began working for music production, game company as an internal legal counsel after graduating law school in New York and got back to Japan. She has been keeping a network in this field and still providing a legal service for entertainment & sports related clients as outside legal counsel after she got legal license both in Japan and the US.
Junichiro has long been practicing the entertainment law as an in-house counsel for the Hollywood and Japanese entertainment industries, counseling on copyrights and other intellectual properties, cross-border transactions, joint venture, M&A and general corporate administration for a variety of projects of production, marketing & promotion, merchandising, licensing, distribution, sponsorship & partnership and dispute resolution, across the sectors of film, TV, gaming, music and live & show entertainment. He serves as the general counsel with regional responsibilities for a giant global-franchise entertainment company in Japan, leading the team of in-house lawyers and legal professionals. In parallel, he teaches these areas of laws at Temple Law School, Japan campus, as an adjunct professor. He frequently appears as the speaker on the variety of forums, talking about a cross-border transactions and being well-known lawyer in this industry.
Immigration Law
Adding to the general practice of Entertainment Laws & Area, Junko is an expert of Immigration matters both under the jurisdiction of Japan and the US. She has a track record of passing rate for obtaining residence certificates on behalf of the clients even the difficult cases including Artist & Performance Status that usual professionals are not capable to handle. After obtaining California Attorney license, she began practicing US immigration matter and primarily focus on the non-immigration visa- B1/B2, E1/E2, L1 and H-1B. She is also the ambassador of Relocate World that is a portal site aiming to connect customers and immigration specialists worldwide.
Estate planning
Junko was originally doing the practice of the will, trust and real property issues as consultant of Shinjuku Gyosei Shoshi dept. (pro bono basis), coping with the international probate matters and then having the wills and trust seminar at Honolulu, Hawaii several times with tax attorney specializing properties tax. Since then, she’s been doing the practice at probate, trust matters for Japanese and American citizens. She knew very well about the international probate matters, especially the difference between Japan and the US laws & systems. She’s been keeping real estate trading manager license, previously working for real estate agency, in Japan.
Family and Other Civil Laws
California is one of nine states in the US applying community property laws, as well as Texas, Washington and Nevada. The laws are completely different from the usual family laws of other states and Japan. The person residing or having a property in California needs to know the difference between separate property and community property.
